Held between 8 and 22 October, LAKO2 exhibition is a kind of closing event of the course Residential Building Design 2 at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME). The material to be exhibited consists of students’ drawings and maquettes produced by students during the semester.

The main profile of the Residential Building Design department at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics involves education and research related to housing and residential buildings. The course Residential Building Design 2 focuses on developing students’ complex designer approach to operation, spatial organisation and massing, after thoroughly studying the function. Its objective is to enable students to make autonomous, professionally correct decisions on designing, through understanding the depths of housing as a function. The subject helps students acquire an eco-conscious thinking, apply innovative elements, and conceive the approach of socially sensitive design, thus supporting responsible transformation of the built environment.

Held between 8 and 22 October, LAKO2 exhibition is a kind of closing event of the university course. The material to be exhibited consists of students’ drawings and maquettes produced by students during the semester. The exhibition summarises and represents the work going on at the department, presents the latest courses in Hungarian residential building design, and creates a possibility to release architecture’s characteristic aloofness by addressing also interested individuals outside the profession.
