The Rippl-Rónai Faculty of Arts celebrated the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Bauhaus in the 2018-19 academic year. During exhibitions, lecture series, study tours and workshops, they tried to acquaint their students with the significance of the Bauhaus, its impact to this day; often updating former tasks and topics. They worked on more than 15 courses, practical assignments that were related to the Bauhaus in various ways - either the iconic works, their spirituality, their history, or in updated assignments they examined the current state of art, design or object culture.
As in the Bauhaus, the participants worked in several genres and media, trying to use as many tools as possible to carry out the tasks: the completed material includes videos, drawings, photo series; site-specific installations, animations, graphics, experimental photographs, documentaries, conceptual works and performance. The current visual and social problems of that time are often still questions for an artist, a designer - the Bauhaus Up! with an exhibition, students present the answers and visual solutions of today's young artists to Bauhaus-inspired tasks.
The exhibition is streamed via a YouTube link.
