A Design Hét Budapest Központi értékek – közös örökségünk a közép-európai kortárs designban című kiállításához kapcsolódó előadássorozat célja megmutatni, hogy a régió hasonló társadalmi, gazdasági és kulturális hagyományokkal, adottságokkal rendelkező országai milyen formai, technológiai és rendszerszintű válaszokat adnak a meghatározó, közös kihívásokra – ezeket a kérdéseket járják körül a Visegrádi Együttműködés országainak képviselői a konferencia keretéban.

Design Hét Sopron

Immár harmadik alkalommal jelentkezik Sopronban is a Design Hét, mely az Alkalmazott Művészeti Intézetben 'Az átmenetiség újrateremtése' kíállítás megnyitójával kezdődik és a táborral, mint építészeti problémával foglalkozik, azon belül is elsősorban a menekülttáborral, mint ideiglenes és uniformizált térrel. The Museum of Applied Arts expects fans of object culture with a traditional design fair: designer-made unique, high-quality jewellery, clothing, ceramics and accessories. In addition to the fair, varied programmes including a family day will be provided to interested visitors.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the formation of the Visegrád Cooperation, and also when Visegrád Patent Institute, a partner institution of the Hungarian Intellectual Property Office was launched. This round anniversary others additional opportunities for strengthening cooperation in a number of fields, including design. Exhibition and fashion show

The school-leavers of Budapest Complex Center of Vocational Training invite those interested in fashion, textile, crafts and design to join them on a journey of exploration. The exhibition aims to present a great diversity of textiles rendered unique by the special application of materials such as polifoam, bicycle inner tubes and plastic tubes. In the works of school-leavers the combination of a great range of colours and exotic surfaces are displayed.

MOME Degree Fashion Show 2016

Introducing the next generation of fashion and accessories designers the annual MOME Degree Fashion Show will be held Friday, September 23, 2016, at the prestigious Várkert Bazár. Courses featured in Show are Fashion Design, Knitwear Design, and Accessories Design.

Future Traditions in Design

Round table discussion

Reflextions by young designers on the themes researched by the Future Traditions project, in connection with the exhibition under the same title. What it means for us, what kind of professional and emotional attachments are conceived in the present during various design assignments in relation to the past and the future? Progressive designers of the Hungarian design community will discuss these issues during the round table discussion.

The Studio Project

Workshops and Evening Events

Envisioned by the designer siblings, the mittersisters brand's first collaboration is called The studio project. Workshops held in their atelier located at Astoria, combine the joy of individual creation, the idea of the personalised, variable accessoires and the status of the designer bag. Visit their studio during the Design Week, and you can try yourself out on the workshops with a 50% discount, or meet personally with the girls and the brand's third founder on one of theirinformal evenings, where in addition to the delicious food and drinks, other programs will be presented as well. Registration required on both the workshops and the evening events as well. Fashion show in the foundry

Rusty clothes, patinated jewelry… Fashion show and journey at the world of senses – metals and textiles in interaction, contemporary music on bells, craft beer tasting with BigFoot, projection lighting and guided tours at the magical, unique space, the industrial jewelry box of Buda: the Foundry Museum. Pop-up exhibition, lecture, workshop

The new exhibition of the Hopp Museum entitled Nagas, Birds, Elephants demonstrates the distinctively Southeast Asian form of artistic expression: textile art. On a monthly basis, the exhibition is accompanied by contemporary artists’ pop-up exhibitions and guided tours. During Budapest Design Week, visitors are welcome to attend the workshop by Réka Tóth-Vásárhelyi and Anna Mohácsi.
