This year marks the 25th anniversary of the formation of the Visegrád Cooperation, and also when Visegrád Patent Institute, a partner institution of the Hungarian Intellectual Property Office was launched. This round anniversary others additional opportunities for strengthening cooperation in a number of fields, including design. Celebrate together with Visegrad countries’ designers
For 10 years now WAMP represents and guarantees high quality design. During this year’s Design Week Budapest WAMP prepares with a special program, where Slovakian, Czech and Polish designers will present their work beyond more than hundred selected Hungarian exhibitors. Entrance fee is 500 Ft, which you can pay with at the market.
Cellux Group offers a colourful program on their all-day long picnic: check out their brand new children’s book illustration and enjoy the following kids workshop (10-13h), participate in the lecture and discussion about storytelling in design (14-15h) and finish the day with an interesting design workshop that uses folk tales as an inspiration (15-17h).

Binpile building, lamp making
Binpile modular system combines functionality, flexible versality and quality handwork. Their workshop uses recycled wood exclusively and sustainability is their basic principle. Design Week workshops allow participants to build with Binpile modules or even to create a Binpile lamp. Create your own wooden box!
WoodLike is a series of workshops related to Do It Yourself (DIY) projects where non-professionals have the chance to create design items with experts’ help. This time, participants will create their own and unique storage devices, and will share a brunch afterwards. Self-made fruit and vegetable “boxes” are free to be taken home by their producers. Design in Process – A gastro/design evening
How is an exclusive sofa made? What makes lighting intimate? How can food be both beautiful and delicious? These questions will be answered and dinner served at the Z18 apartment restaurant; food prepared by master chef Anatoli Belov, comfort assured by Álmos Furniture, and intimate lighting provided by Oleant Lighting design.
Special Edition On Open Design
Pecha Kucha Night, devised by Klein Dytham architecture from Tokio, was conceived in 2003 as a place for young designers to meet, network and show their work. Presenter is allowed 20 images, each shown for 20 seconds. This keeps presentations concise and the interest level up. The hot topic of our special edition is open design in theory and in practice. Discussion and visit at treasure-loaded extraordinary one-man studio AADAAM under the title ’From jewellery to women’s handball Champions League trophy’.
